Feedback on Ireland’s Hot School Meals Scheme
Dear Parents,
The National Parents Council (NPC) is asking for your feedback on Ireland’s Hot School Meals Scheme. This scheme, paid for by the Department of Social Protection, provides hot meals to primary school children. It is open to all primary schools, with schools organising the food. The goal of the scheme is to help more children attend school regularly and do better in their learning.
The NPC has been asked by the Joint Committee on Education and Youth to share what families think about the scheme. We want to hear from both parents and children so the Committee gets a real picture of what is working well and what could be better.
We have two short snap surveys, which will close on the 14th of January 2026 at 2 PM—one for parents and one for children. We would really appreciate it if you and your child could take a few minutes to complete them:

Thank you for helping us make sure every child gets the best out of this scheme. Your views will help the NPC speak up for families at the Committee.
Best wishes,
NPC
