Presentation of the Irish Flag

The school hall was decked out in green, white and orange today for the presentation of the Irish flag by The Defence Forces to commemorate the 100th anniversary of 1916.  6th class pupils read out and reenacted the signing of the Proclamation of the Irish Republic.  We especially welcomed back past pupils Sgt. Richard Crowe and Sgt. Noelle Gardiner who are currently serving in The Irish Army. Everyone stood to attention for Amhrán na bhFiann whilst Mrs. Walsh accompanied on the trumpet.
